Moisture and Electronics
- the drip drip drip of failure

Electronics and water aren't meant to mix, but huge numbers of enclosures, barriers and insulants simply don't work properly when it comes to water vapour. They may be fine with liquid water but they can be virtually useless when applied to the more common problem of excluding the moisture that's omnipresent in the air, which seeps in but can't seep out again.  This can result in catastrophic failure.

Versaperm, specialists in vapour permeability measurement equipment, now offers a series of faster and more efficient ways to test (and measure) this problem in "real-world" examples - such as with finished products, components and insulation materials.    The system is simple to use, extremely accurate and very fast – with some materials results that represent years of uses in the field can be gained in as little as thirty minutes.

The Versaperm instrument was purpose designed for this task and gives results that are accurate in the parts per million range (PPM) for most samples and vapours.  It can even cope with several material samples, seals or enclosures at a time.

Optionally the system can also work with most other gases including, hydrocarbons, solvents, CO2 and virtually all other common gases and vapours.  The equipment is obviously also useful for electronics systems in a marine environment!

Versaperm also offers a laboratory service for companies that only need to test samples for permeability on an irregular basis.
